Veterinarian

Dr. Larry Joosse

Dr. Larry Joosse grew up in Grimsby, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree and then a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.

Dr. Larry Joosse grew up in Grimsby, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree and then a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He was the recipient of the Merck award for proficiency in clinical medicine. Larry and his wife Patsy moved to St. Marys in 1981 where Dr. Joosse worked at the St. Marys Veterinary Clinic initially as an associate and then as a partner for 22 years. Although he practiced both on food producing animals and companion animals as the years went by, his emphasis focused more and more on the companion animals. When the partnership was sold to the Kirkton Veterinary Clinic, he decided to focus all clinical practice on companion animals (pets) with emphasis on medical cases and general care.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Larry enjoys gardening, landscaping, slo-pitch (before Covid), cycling, reading, theater, kayaking, rockhounding, and walking the family dog Bonnie. Patsy and Larry are active members of First Baptist Church in St. Marys serving on leadership teams and involved in many church activities. Both also spent many years as part of the St. Marys Skating Club. Larry also volunteered as part of the Interclub North Region of the Western Ontario Section of Skate Canada and was involved in planning and hosting a number of skating competitions. Larry is a member and volunteer of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
Professionally, Dr. Joosse is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, London and Area Veterinary Association, and the Golden Triangle Veterinary Academy (GTVA) on whose executive he has volunteered for a number of terms.
The Joosses have a son Matthew and a daughter Sarah. Matt has Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Health degrees from the University of Guelph. He and his wife Veronica (also a Guelph grad) live in Sarnia and have two children Colin and Rita. Sarah has a Bachelor of Education from McGill University and a Masters of Education from the University of British Columbia, she and her husband Derrick live in Guelph.

Dr. Jessica Davison,

Dr. Jessica Davison is originally from New Hamburg, where she grew up with her two sisters and parents. She graduated with distinction, from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2017.

She also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2017. She obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine, with distinction, at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2021. She currently lives in Tavistock with her husband, Josh and her Golden Retriever, Denny. Jessica enjoys spending her spare time with her friends and family, staying active and travelling as much as possible. She has a specialist interest in long term preventive healthcare, surgical procedures and orthopaedic concerns.

Dr. Jeffrey Buckland

Dr. Jeff Buckland graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997 and after graduation worked in a mixed animal clinic in the Ottawa Valley.

Dr. Jeff Buckland graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997 and after graduation worked in a mixed animal clinic in the Ottawa Valley.

He joined the Kirkton Veterinary Professional Corporation in the spring of 1999 and later completed the Dairy Certificate Program in 2004. Jeff works in the Food Animal division of the practice and also practices Small Animal Medicine out of both the Kirkton Veterinary Clinic and St. Marys Veterinary Clinic. Jeff Lives outside of St. Marys with his wife Kim and their three children James, Hannah and Jonathan and a cat, Amelia. He enjoys sailing, camping, and canoeing when time permits.

Dr. Marcus Litman

Dr. Marcus Litman grew up on a hobby farm near Paris Ontario and attended the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating in 2000.

Dr. Marcus Litman grew up on a hobby farm near Paris Ontario and attended the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating in 2000. After spending a few years in small animal practice in Hamilton, Ontario he took a position as a laboratory animal veterinarian at the University of Guelph where he worked for 20 years. He currently works as a locum veterinarian at three different small animal clinics in southern Ontario and resides near Brantford Ontario with his wife, two teenage sons and two cats, Benny and Gizmo.

Dr. Cassandra Carolino

Dr. Cassandra Carolino is originally from Putnam, where she grew up with her identical twin sister, two older brothers, and her parents on their rural property.

Dr. Cassandra Carolino is originally from Putnam, where she grew up with her identical twin sister, two older brothers, and her parents on their rural property. As a young child, her love for wildlife and the environment kickstarted her journey into veterinary medicine.

Cassandra graduated, with distinction, from the University of Guelph in 2019, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology. She then went on to obtain a Masters of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Guelph in 2020, where her project focused on the long-distance transport of cattle. Finally, she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine, with distinction, from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2024. Cassandra currently lives in Guelph with her fiancé, Michael, and their shepherd/retriever mix, Ralph.

Cassandra enjoys spending her free time outdoors and connecting with nature, participating in activities such as hiking, camping, stand-up paddle boarding, yoga, and snowboarding. She has special interests in small animal preventative medicine as well as emergency and critical care.

Dr. Tiffany Gaynor

Dr. Tiffany Gaynor grew up in Goderich, Ontario before attending the University of Guelph to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Tiffany Gaynor grew up in Goderich, Ontario before attending the University of Guelph to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Tiffany obtained a Bachelor of Science degree before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013. After graduation she worked in a mixed animal practice, before transitioning exclusively to small animal medicine. Dr. Tiffany received training in emergency medicine before settling into general practice. She enjoys all aspects of medicine, with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Tiffany enjoys spending time with her dog Kiwi, reading, cooking, playing pickle ball, spending time with friends and family, and strolling the beautiful beach in Goderich.

Another ‘lifer’ with STMVC, Nancy began her association with STMVC as an after school job as a high school student.

Another ‘lifer’ with STMVC, Nancy began her association with STMVC as an after school job as a high school student. She is a longstanding, active member of the Kinettes, enjoys playing slow pitch and is also employed part time at the St. Marys YMCA. Nancy resides in St. Marys with her husband, Hughie, and is enjoying spoiling privileges for their new grandson.

Karen has been part of the St. Marys Veterinary clinic family since 1989.

Karen has been part of the St. Marys Veterinary clinic family since 1989. Her great work ethic and passion for animals makes her an invaluable part of our team. She uses her vast knowledge of animals and her ability to communicate with owners making their experience a special one.

Katie grew up on a cash crop farm outside of Granton, Ontario.

Katie grew up on a cash crop farm outside of Granton, Ontario. She did her highschool co-op placement at St. Marys Vet Clinic, which led her to pursue the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College, graduating in 2007. St. Marys Vet Clinic welcomed her back as a veterinary tech and has been home to her ever since. Katie has a special interest in performing dental cleanings, small animal nutrition, assisting in surgeries & running tech appointments.
In her spare time, she enjoys crossfit classes at the local gym, playing soccer, 4-wheeler trips and spending time with her friends and family.
She currently resides in Lucan with her husband Bernie, two boys Hank & Tommy, her Doberman Reg and cat Gordon.

Lisa was born and raised in St. Marys and still resides in town with her with her husband, two sons, the family dog and two cats.

Lisa was born and raised in St. Marys and still resides in town with her with her husband, two sons, the family dog and two cats. She graduated from the AHT program in Centralia and began her employment at STMVC in 1989. Our resident ‘socialite’, Lisa is a longstanding Kinette member and enjoys performing bartending duties for events held at the Arena. She loves to watch and participate in numerous sports including slow pitch and golf and enjoys traveling with her husband, Tony, friends and family.

Emily graduated from the Vet Tech Program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown College in 2017 and has worked at St. Mary's Vet Clinic ever since.

Emily graduated from the Vet Tech Program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown College in 2017 and has worked at St. Mary's Vet Clinic ever since. Though she loves her job, especially client education and Surgery/Anesthesia, she has always wanted to continue her education and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts. When not at the clinic or in the classroom, Emily can be found reading, swimming, or horseback riding.

As of April 2024, I became a part of the St. Marys Veterinary Clinic team. I completed my studies at Seneca College in 2010 and gained my registration shortly thereafter.

Prior to joining this team, I spent a decade working in a small animal practice. My husband and I reside on the family farm where I was raised, along with our two daughters and our Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Finley. In my free time, I enjoy being with loved ones and indulging in a good book.

Katty is a graduate of St. Clair College’s Veterinary Technician program in Windsor, ON.

She now lives in her home town of St. Marys with her husband Alex and furry babies, Maverick, Sophie, Boots, and Baby. In her spare time, she loves fishing for big fat bass and walking Maverick along the river road. She is very happy to be the newest part of the Ilderton Pet Hospital family.

Kayla graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in spring of 2024 and is a new member to the SMVC team.

Kayla graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in spring of 2024 and is a new member to the SMVC team. She enjoys working with small animals, being in surgery and emergency medicine. Kayla lives outside of St Marys on her family farm with her 2 cats, Pancake and waffles and horses, Norman and Ali. Outside of work she enjoys riding her horses and spending time with friends and family.

Kassity graduated from Seneca College in April 2022 from the veterinary assistant program.

Ace is the boss man and resident greeter at the St. Marys Vet Clinic.

Ace is the boss man and resident greeter at the St. Marys Vet Clinic. He has been with us since being bottle fed as a kitten. He enjoys perching on the backs of the chairs at reception, typing, and using the photocopy machine.

Shandra

Shandra grew up on a small hobby farm in Sebringville, Ontario.

Shandra grew up on a small hobby farm in Sebringville, Ontario. She currently resides in Stratford with her family and West Highland Terrier, Emmie. Upon completion of the Medical Assistant program, leading Family Practice clinics for several years, her change to Veterinary Medicine has been recent.

An understanding of the meaningful relationship between clients and their pets, led her to pursue a leadership role in veterinary medicine. She thoroughly enjoys team building, customer service training and compassionate patient care.
